About Charles
I was born and raised in a relatively unknown area called Boyce, Louisiana, about 10-15 minutes West of Alexandria, Louisiana. With attractions such as Kisatchie National Forest, Valentine Lake, and Kincaid Lake being in such close proximity, I fell in love with the outdoors, and that love still continues to this day.
As a young boy, I’ve always had a passionate personality and was never afraid to stand up for what I believed was right. My mom would tell me, “Son, I believe you will be an attorney when you grow up.” Although she was right, I had no idea what I wanted to be when I “grew up.”
After doing a 5th year victory lap around campus, I finally obtained my bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 2013; however, I still had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I bounced around here and there with no real goals or direction, until one day I saw an LSAT prep book at the library. At that moment something clicked, and I began researching what it would take to get into law school. I remember telling my dad of my plans to go to law school, and he responded, “Don’t you think you should think about something a little more realistic?” In his defense, his response was genuine and practical because my actions, to that point, had not demonstrated that I was capable of putting in the time and effort to achieve this goal. Well, little did my dad know, but by telling me to “think about something a little more realistic,” he lit a fire inside me that continues to burn to this day. He is my biggest supporter and always wants me to succeed, so maybe he knew exactly what he was doing when he made those comments. Thanks Dad.
I was able to accomplish my goal of getting into law school and ended up attending Louisiana State University, where I graduated in 2017. In November of 2018, I began working as an Assistant Attorney General for the Louisiana Department of Justice. During my 5 + years at the DOJ, I primarily practiced Workers’ Compensation Defense and Second Injury Fund Recovery. As of February 16, 2024, I joined Parker & Landry as an Associate Attorney. Honestly, I could not be at a better firm and will continue to grow and progress in defending WC litigation claims.
