Training Season Is Here: Workers’ Compensation Courses for Adjusters and Employers

It is that time of year where the CLE training opportunities abound. Whether by Teams, or in person, Parker & Landry, LLC has your Louisiana Workers’ Compensation training needs met. We have a 3.0 CEU hour Introduction to Louisiana Workers’ Compensation training seminar that is great for providing a foundational basis for new adjusters and to help older adjusters polish their skills. We recently prepared, but we are still waiting on final certification, of a 2.0 hour CEU Advanced Louisiana Workers’ Compensation seminar that goes into more detail regarding the calculation of the Average Weekly Wage, how to pay Supplemental Earnings Benefits, among other topics that the introductory course cannot cover insufficient detail within the time allotted for the presentation. We plan on coupling the advanced seminar with a 1.0 CEU hour presentation on ethics.
If you are not already aware, we also have training videos on the Parker & Landry YouTube channel, and we are currently in the process of working on shorter five to eight minutes presentations that cover one specific issue at a time as requested by a few adjusters. The plan is to prevent you from having to watch an entire video if you simply need a refresher on how to calculate wages for a part-time employee, for example. Once we get the foundational topics published and available for viewing, we will likely give you, the ultimate user, the ability to direct what additional presentations we need in the future. The goal is to have a quick resource for you to refer to that will take up merely a few minutes of your time.
But there is more…
Some of you understand that a lot of the problems with which you must deal in any case are issues that arise due to the employer’s lack of knowledge of what is needed in a Louisiana workers’ compensation claim. We currently have an Employer’s Training Course for Workers’ Compensation. We have a 5.0-hour and a 3.0-hour version for employers, and we have recently added a 1.0-hour version that was presented last week to an employer at their request. The better trained your adjusters, the easier your job becomes as an adjuster.
In the end, Parker & Landry strives to give you all the tools that you need to become the most effective workers’ compensation adjuster that you can.
If you, or your team, feels like a training would benefit you, or your customer(s), please feel free to reach out to us, and we can arrange a mutually convenient time for the training, whether by Teams or in person.
