Workers’ Compensation Alert: 2026-2027 Louisiana Benefits Rates Released
The Louisiana Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration (“OWCA”) has released the updated weekly compensation benefit limits applicable to Louisiana workers’ compensation claims involving accidents occurring between September 1, 2026, and August 31, 2027. These annual adjustments are based upon the statewide average weekly wage pursuant to La. R.S. 23:1202 and should be considered when evaluating indemnity benefits on new claims.
The Updated Benefit Figures Are as Follows:
- Statewide Average Weekly Wage: $1,204.02
- Maximum Weekly Compensation Rate: $903.00
- Minimum Weekly Compensation Rate: $241.00
- Mileage Reimbursement: $0.725 per mile (effective January 1, 2026, pursuant to La. R.S. 23:1203(D))
